Move your photos from Google Photos
Google Takeout gives you your photos as ZIP files. A vault takes the ZIP files as they are and unpacks them inside, encrypted. Use a computer: the files can be large.

Steps
- At takeout.google.com, pick only Google Photos and choose ZIP files. Google emails you when they are ready to download.
- Download the ZIP files to your computer.
- In the web app, open a vault, choose Add files, and pick the ZIP files.
- When a ZIP file is in, open its menu and choose Extract all. Tick Delete the ZIP file when done if you do not need it.
- Open the vault in Gallery and check that your photos are there.
- Delete the ZIP files from your computer, and the photos from Google Photos if you want them only in the vault.
Good to know
- Takeout puts a small .json file beside many photos, with their date and place. You can delete them, or keep them in the vault.
- Only the cloud copy counts toward your storage. Check your plan's size before a large import.
- Ciphroh cannot remove copies that exist elsewhere. Photos stay in Google Photos until you delete them there.
