Move to a new phone

Vaults with a cloud copy come with you. A vault kept only on the old phone does not.

Steps

  1. On the old phone, look at each vault you want to keep. If it has Phone copy only, turn on its cloud copy from the vault menu and wait until it is synced.
  2. Check that you have the password or the recovery key of every vault.
  3. On the new phone, install Stonesafe and sign in with your email address and account password. Your home vault comes back.
  4. Choose Open vault and type a vault's password or recovery key. Do this for each vault.

Good to know

  • A vault can stay open on the old phone and the new one at the same time. Each one syncs.
  • A vault kept only on the phone can also move as a file: Export vault under Export in the vault menu on the old phone, then Import a vault file under New vault on the new one. The vault opens at once and its files come in behind it.
  • Until the Android app is on Google Play, you can use the web app on the new phone in the same way.
